Napoleon's trail

Napoleon’s Trail stretches for nearly 90 historical km, where many monuments and museums recall the passage of the French marching to meet the allied armies.

As part of the Bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo, the entire route has been waymarked to enable you to follow in Napoleon's footsteps across Wallonia up to the Battle that would seal the destiny of Europe.

This is also an opportunity to discover the historic towns near Napoleon's route, their very diverse architectural and cultural heritage and their natural beauty – from Beaumont to Waterloo via Charleroi, Ligny, Fleurus, Baisy-Thu and Braine-l'Alleud.

For example, Napoleon's trail is not far from two masterpieces of our medieval architectural heritage: the Villers-la-Ville Abbey and the Collegiate church in Nivelles. Follow this link for further information on the must-sees along the trail.
